EXCITING THE SENSES
Chosing the right painting, sculpture or home accessory can be a daunting task, but East End Gallery has it down to an art form.
The Margate gallery has been helping customers to refine their style through fresh and interesting art. The gallery was the vision of owner Janet Cooper who had been involved in the Philadelphia art scene for the past 25 years. An appreciator and collector of fine art, Cooper made numerous contacts both regionally and worldwide. She uses those contacts, and her extensive knowledge of art, to shape the gallery into one that not only draws customers but receives critical acclaim.
“We work with some of the finest artists around,” said Cooper who ticks off a list that includes Anne Packard, Manel Anoro and Dennis Campay. “We also feature local artists such as Wanda Kline, Lance Balderson, Diane Hark, Doris Peltzman and Marcie Nisley,” she said. “And although we have serious art that stands up to many fine galleries throughout the U.S., the East End Gallery is a fun place to visit. We pride ourselves in being a comfortable place to shop with an inventory that is constantly changing.”
Cooper travels around the region and the country to seek new artists or handle special requests for her customers. “I go to every show I could possibly attend looking for new talent,” she said.“We are constantly attempting to find new, interesting and fresh work to keep the interest of our steady clients. We try to accommodate all styles.”
“We also work closely with well respected interior designers to fulfill their needs,” said Cooper. “For example, they might tell us that they’re looking for certain color schemes or specific images.” “We’ll also work directly with the homeowners, and we specialize in complimentary home consultations,” she said. “It gives us a better feel for the person’s existing color theme, their space and their needs. There are lots of clients shopping for their second homes as well as locals who return to us time and again, which we really appreciate.”
The gallery has a wide inventory of art including fine art, crafts, glass, sculpture, home accessories, metal work, and objects of whimsy. There are many “one of a kind” originals and limited editions. The gallery also offers custom framing from a top of a line frame company. Customers can bring their own pieces for framing as well as purchase one at East End Gallery.
“Whether it’s an intriguing painting, exquisite glass, unique sculpture, or just a “fun” piece that makes you smile,” said Cooper, “we invite you to come in and enjoy.”
