Interiors & Fine Cabinetry

The Heart of the Home. Long ago, kitchens were tiny odd spaces, the domains of servants. Hidden near the back of the house, they were hot with boiling pots and smoky from a constant burning fire. Not only were kitchens unsuitable for entertaining, sometimes they were so far from the main living area that they weren't even attached to the home. It couldn't be more different today.
Show Time!

To truly succeed with a discerning public, there must be a “gee-whiz” feature in each nook and cranny, a surprise in every stairwell, a design discovery in each kitchen, and to-die-for amenities everywhere, from the tiniest powder room to the greatest great room.

Avalon Oasis

Among the sandy soil and Jersey shore vegetation of their neighbors, Tom and Maureen Cherenack’s home stands out. For one thing, the property is meticulously landscaped, a rich green, dotted with well-placed splashes of color. For another, it’s got palm trees.
Suite Spots

Greek music begins and the short, bearded man in the expensive suit takes out a handkerchief, waves it in the air, and says, “Let’s dance.”

Captain's Quarters
Amid seagulls and salt air,
Paul Mastropieri has created a legacy.

The South Jersey builder, who does only one—perhaps two—homes a year so that he can “do them right,” has built a distinctive reputation in custom homes by the seashore...
The Gathering Place

Bunny and Tim had “sand in their shoes.” Bunny had grown up summering at the Jersey shore. Tim, who hailed from New York State, made his acquaintance with its sun, sand and surf slightly later in life...

Architect's Abode
It's easy to call this place a work of art.

There’s not a square room in Robert and Fern Kiejdan’s house. As an architect designing and building his own home, Robert Kiejdan may have been thinking in geometrics but they certainly weren’t square, or even ordinary. No, the Kiejdans’ Margate home is a true tribute to architectural creativity...
French Country Estate
A Timeless Classic

It sits perched on the edge of the lake, with ponds filled with plump fish and three miniature greyhounds frolicking on a perfectly manicured lawn. Its gray limestone walls stood at the foot of a circular stone driveway, the massive front door and grand entry welcoming...

From Cape to Mansion
The Marley's little cape wasn't much to look
at. But oh, what a view.

David and Jennifer Marley knew the moment they found it. The little Cape Cod wasn’t much to look at, but oh, that view! It was as if the ocean were at their front doorstep...

Setting the Stage
For Kerri Neiderer and Christine Droney,
moving real estate is all about show...and sell
When Alan and Sedra Schiffman put their Avalon home on the market, they expected it to sell quickly. With scenic beach views and plenty of space in this three-story home, it was a natural. But ten long months later, in a motionless real estate market, the Schiffmans were in trouble and they knew it.
Palace Perfect
They say a man's home is his castle,
and this one surely was

The copper gates glinted in the morning sun, swinging open at some invisible command. They say a man’s home is his castle, and this one surely was. A walk through the massive front doors put me in another world. Homeowners Les and Lita would be my tour guides...
Destination Cornerstone
A couple goes custom and cuts the commute
When Dave Lyons surprised his wife Linda with an early morning call, he made her guess where he was. “At the model home!” he finally announced. The couple had recently toured Cornerstone Communities’ model and were considering a custom home...

The Great Estate
A stunning tribute to Old World
French archictecture
When most people build a “dream home,” they set out to create a legacy for years to come. But Jim Karanzalis’ extraordinary home is a temporary one. As head of Travarelli Builders in Medford, Karanzalis likes to build a home for himself while he’s working on a community...
Life on the Lake
This Marlton retreat is all about
kids, family and lifestyle
If a picture is worth a thousand words, it would take volumes to describe 8 Norrsken Drive in Marlton. The 7,800 square foot lakefront estate, complete with private dock, is the ultimate retreat...
The New Old World
Haddonfield's Brentwood Cottage
Some homes are made to be lived in. Others are meant to be appreciated for their grandeur. The Brentwood Cottage in Haddonfield is that unique structure that is at once neither and both. It is in fact a “love letter” from a couple to an unknown buyer...
